240 is a lucky number right?

Since the public/designer's public outcry at the not terribly appealing new GAP logo, there's been call to submit redesigns. My entry is number 240 and I'm happy to say that it's sits well against some of the better submissions.

I've used the font Titillium Maps which is lovely and legible, it speaks to me of being modern without throwing out the past. A main part of the redesign is the stitching square, the frame for the type. It's slightly askew just to make the name have a tiny bit of movement in the 'gap' I've made for it. Thinking practically the stitching square could be used so much as part of the new logo that in some cases you could do away with the logo and use it for promotional copy or even washing instructions.

You can catch the redesign frenzy over at Scott Hansen's portfolio blog http://blog.iso50.com or more directly via the link above. Cheers!
